Chaotic scalar fields as models for dark energy
نویسنده
چکیده
We consider stochastically quantized self-interacting scalar fields as suitable models to generate dark energy in the universe. Second quantization effects lead to new and unexpected phenomena if the self interaction strength is strong. The stochastically quantized dynamics can degenerate to a chaotic dynamics conjugated to a Bernoulli shift in fictitious time, and the right amount of vacuum energy density can be generated without fine tuning. It is numerically observed that the scalar field dynamics distinguishes fundamental parameters such as the electroweak and strong coupling constants as corresponding to local minima in the dark energy landscape. Chaotic fields can offer possible solutions to the cosmological coincidence problem, as well as to the problem of uniqueness of vacua. permanent address: School of Mathematical Sciences, Queen Mary, University of London, Mile End Road, London E1 4NS, UK.

Nonextensive scalar field theories and dark energy models
Current astronomical measurements indicate that approximately 73% of the universe is made up of dark energy. Stochastically quantized self-interacting scalar fields can serve as suitable models to generate dark energy. We study a particular model where the scalar field theory underlying dark energy exhibits strongest possible chaotic behaviour. It is shown that the fluctuating chaotic field mom...
متن کاملSinglet scalar dark matter in noncommutative space
In this paper, we examine the singlet scalar dark matter annihilation to becoming the Standard Model particles in the non-commutative space. In the recent decades, many candidates of dark matter have been offered, but our information about the nature of dark matter is still limited. There are such particle candidates as scalar matetr, fermion, boson, gauge boson, etc.; however, they have nei...
متن کاملDark energy, chaotic fields, and fundamental constants
To explain the currently observed accelerated expansion of the universe, a large number of different theoretical models are presently being discussed. In one way or another, all of these contain ‘new physics’, though at different levels. The big question is how to select out of infinitely many possible models the right one. We here discuss a possibility that has so far been somewhat neglected, ...
متن کاملNon-chaotic dynamics in general-relativistic and scalar-tensor cosmology
In the context of scalar-tensor models of dark energy and inflation, the dynamics of vacuum scalar-tensor cosmology are analysed without specifying the coupling function or the scalar field potential. A conformal transformation to the Einstein frame is used and the dynamics of general relativity with a minimally coupled scalar field are derived for a generic potential. It is shown that the dyna...
متن کاملComplexity of chaotic fields and standard model parameters
In order to understand the parameters of the standard model of electroweak and strong interactions (coupling constants, masses, mixing angles) one needs to embed the standard model into some larger theory that accounts for the observed values. This means some additional sector is needed that fixes and stabilizes the values of the fundamental constants of nature. In these lecture notes we descri...
